Located within the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, this impressive museum has over 7,000 firearms and more than 30,000 firearms-related artifacts! However, the heart of the museum lies in the Winchester Arms Collection.
About the Winchester Collection
In 1988, the Cody Firearms Museum received its most valuable donation in history, the Winchester Arms Collection. The collection contains more than 6,500 individual items and 4,000 unique firearms. Here, visitors have the opportunity to explore the development of firearms in both Europe and the United States!

- The Cody Firearms Museum hours change with the seasons. Currently, their operating hours are May 1 through September 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., September 16 through October 31 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and November 1 through April 30 from 10:00 am.m. to 5:00 p.m. The museum is open daily, but only operates Thursday through Sunday in the months of December, January, and February.
