What You Need to Know About Smith Mansion

About Smith Mansion

Located in the heart of the Wapiti Valley, Smith Mansion stands approximately 75 feet tall. Its design is eccentric, imaginative, and reminiscent of a home in a Dr. Seuss book. Francis Lee Smith began constructing the home in the 1970s, but was unable able to complete the project. Today, it holds a significant value to the Wapiti Valley and surrounding area. As the years pass and the house sits empty, rumors of ghosts and madmen continue to surface. However, Smith’s daughter, Sunny Smith, debunks these myths and legends.

The Truth About Smith Mansion

Lee Smith studied architecture at the University of Montana, and to Smith’s daughter, Sunny Smith, the Smith Mansion is more than a quirky curiosity. Sunny remembers her father as an imaginative soul and inspirational artist. Inside the eccentric home, you will find six distinct rooms. Tours are open to the public through The Smith Mansion Preservation Project.

The Smith Mansion Preservation Project

Sunny Smith Larsen is the founder of The Smith Mansion Preservation Project. The organization dedicates itself to protecting and preserving the home. To keep the home open for public tours, the Larsen Family depends on volunteers and donations from the public. If you are interested in volunteering for the 2018 tour season, you may contact Smith Mansion Preservation Project at smithmansion@yahoo.com. All volunteers receive a personal tour, lunch, and a Smith Mansion t-shirt.
