Then, wander through sweeping prairies surrounding our secluded tipi encampment. If you would like to cover more ground, you can even enjoy horseback riding excursions, mountain biking, and ATV tours at the ranch. Don’t forget to bring your camera! You’ll also find plenty of wildlife-viewing opportunities here, as the park is home to more than 80 species of waterfowl and songbirds.
  • Paul Stock Nature Trail: Offering panoramic views of the Shoshone River, the Paul Stock Nature Trail is another one of our favorite hikes. The 1.3-mile trail is perfect for all levels of fitness, and there are several comfortable park benches along the way. Make sure to stop by the Paul Stock Aquatic and Recreation to pick up a trail brochure before you go.
  • Heart Mountain Ranch Preserve Trailhead: Second only to Monster Lake Ranch, Heart Mountain offers some of the best day hikes in Wyoming. The Class 1 Heart Mountain Trail is 7.6 miles round-trip, and you’ll pass rare plants and incredible rock formations along the way. Nothing will prepare you for the incredible views from the top! This is also a popular place for big-wall climbing.
