Specializing in outdoor adventures, corporate events, weddings, family reunions, and memorable getaways.

Welcome to Monster Lake Ranch, a unique and spiritual destination offering guests the opportunity to experience true western culture and lifestyle, with a unique history all its own, while taking in the breathtaking, panoramic views of the Absarkoa range of the nearby Rocky Mountains and experiencing flat water fly fishing and bird hunting second to none. Take a breath, grab a cup of coffee, there’s still a lot more; cowboying, trail riding, roping, barrel racing, teepee and glamping experiences, Cutthroat Saloon, the famous Cody Night Rodeo, excellent cuisine, and still more.

Monster Lake Ranch is the vision of Dan, Sandy, and Mattie Eddleman, fourth and fifth generation ranchers and land stewards of the Oar Lock Ranches, located in Montana and Texas. Inspired by the same entrepreneurial spirit that shaped the West, their desire was simple: create a unique place that offers others the opportunity to experience the natural wonders of the landscape, while also experiencing the hospitality of true western culture and values. A place where everyone is welcome and free from the confinements and stress of everyday life.

In 2012, their vision became a reality when the Eddleman’s found their dream destination nestled in the heart of Buffalo Bill Cody country. This 3,000+acre ranch is conveniently located 8 miles south of beautiful downtown Cody, Wyoming and only 50 miles from Yellowstone National Park. The management and service team at Monster Lake Ranch hope you can truly experience why Buffalo Bill spent his life in Cody, why some of the leading fly fisherman and bird hunters in the world rate Monster Lake Ranch their top destination choice. Previous guests claim the Eddleman’s have done just that, brought the true living experience of Wyoming’s magnificent cowboy and fishing history into their lives.

The ranch currently offers a multitude of activities, including “world class” flat water fly-fishing in either of our private lakes, Monster Lake or Quick Lake. We offer trail rides for all levels of riders, authentic wagon rides, hiking, wildlife viewing, pistol and long range shooting courses, and upland bird hunting. Complete instructional clinics on fly-fishing, bird hunting, barrel racing and general horsemanship are offered as well. Whether you decide to hike, ride, fish, shoot or hunt, there is truly something to inspire every outdoor enthusiast.

Along with spectacular outdoor appeal, Monster Lake Ranch offers comfortable lodging, quality dining and plenty of entertainment, including our old west saloon. We offer RV hook-ups, or cowboy camp tents and Indian tipis for a more authentic western adventure. We’ll even bring out chuck (cowboy slang for food) for those guests who wish to eat dinner under a blanket of twinkling stars on the open range. How about western music while enjoying an after dinner cocktail from our collectors choice of spirits, in a personal setting at the Cutthroat Saloon.

Guests from across the country and around the world have discovered the timeless beauty of our majestic landscape and the rejuvenating comforts of our western hospitality and they keep returning year in a year out. We develop relationships with our guests, just like the old west.  It’s been said no one has ever left Monster Lake Ranch without another family of friends to stay in touch with until the next visit. Let us share with you our modern amenities within the Old West Culture, your comfort and your pleasure are our only concerns. The Old West is real here at Monster Lake Ranch, it’s the way we live.
